. Forex with Alpari

We decided to lengthen the 3rd round of “Investor’s Compass” to 11 weeks, giving contestants more room to work out their investment strategies. The number of contestants grew as well. In the last round of “Investor’s Compass,” more than 2,300 investors competed for the grand prize of 1,000 USD. When it was all said and done, Mingazov Nuriddin came out on top; with more than a 350% return on investment. Nuriddin spoke with us, telling us why he prefers investing to trading and which Managers earned him the most profit in the contest. You can read about all of this and more in the full interview.

1. So Nuriddin, tell us… How long have you been interested in Forex?

I didn’t get into Forex until relatively recently. A couple of years ago.

2. Which do you enjoy more? Independent trading or investing in the PAMM Account of an experienced Manager?

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to earn a steady income as a trader, so I’d have to say that now, investment is the more attractive option.

3. Has your educational background helped you in your trading?

No. It hasn’t played any role in my trading whatsoever.

4. How and when did you decide you would sign up for “Investor’s Compass?”

A banner on Alpari’s front page caught my eye.

5. Were you geared to win right from the start?

That’s kind of a strange question. I think that each of the 2,160 contestants was probably geared to win.

6. Did you have any problems during the contest? If so, how did you manage to overcome them?

I didn’t have any problems at all. After all, the Manager does all of the heavy lifting.

7. Which of the Managers did you invest in? How did you diversify your investments?

I chose a few of the more aggressive Managers to achieve the maximum return on my investment. I ended up losing my ruble and my dollar deposits, but I still had my euro PAMM Account. The profit from that account covered all of my losses. The Euro PAMM Account was managed by Kitilan. In just about a week, I achieved a couple hundred percent profit.

8. The length of the round was increased from 4 weeks to 11 weeks. What effect do you think that had on the results of the contestants?

I think the contestants chose more conservative Managers.

9. What do you think? Is it better to gear your investments towards the long term or the short term?

It depends on which kinds of PAMM Accounts you want to invest in. If the Manager is aggressive, it is probably worth taking a long-term approach.

10. During the third round, you managed to achieve some pretty phenomenal results: almost 350% returns. Care to share with us your secrets of successful investment?

I invested in aggressive PAMM Managers during drawdowns and exited after they reached their peak in profitability.

11. Are you interested in putting your investment instincts to the test and starting to invest real money?

I would love to take part in a contest like that, if it took factors like Maximum Relative Drawdown into account.

12. Are you interested in becoming a Manager?

No. I haven’t ever really been interested in that.

Do you plan to take part in the next round of “Investor’s Compass” or in other Alpari contests?

Why yes! Of course I do!!!!
