Round 22 of Formula FX

With 1,600 USD in cash prizes on the line, Irina Yurevna Arkhipova ran away with victory in Round 22 of the “Formula FX” contest with an astounding 10,494.3945 percentage of profit. 1. Tell us how long you have been trading and what your first experience with financial markets was?

I have known about Forex for a long time. I saw an advertisement for a traders' contest, thought it looked interesting and that's how it all began.

2. Tell us about your educational background, is it in any way connected to finance?

Yes, it is. I graduated from university with a degree in banking, specializing in finance and credit.

3. Have you ever had rough periods in your trading? How have you managed to deal with them?

I have definitely been through rough periods as every trader has and will. When I was just starting, these periods were really hard on me but now I just try to calmly figure out what's not working.

4. Do you have a well-developed and tested trading strategy? Does it help you in your trading?

A strategy, yes, but not a whole trading system.

5. Do you trade with MTS or manually?

By hand and with pending orders

6. Do you use chart analysis, support and resistance lines, for example?

Yes, I do use those things, I am by nature a “techie,” but I also try to pay attention to the release of important news.

7. You managed to achieve incredible results in “Formula FX”: a final result of 10494.3945% profit which at one point during the contest went over 14,000%. How did you do it?

I don't know, I just traded. I don't really think about my percentage of profit in a contest or what place I am in, it just worked out that way this week.

8. Have you not had the desire to become a manager?

No, I haven't. I don't like attention plus I really don't like letting down people who have trusted me-it really weighs on me psychologically.

9. What advice can you give to “Formula FX” participants wishing to achieve your results?

Don't think about your results just for the sake of winning the contest.

10. Are you interested in trying your hand in other Alpari contests?

Maybe, in “Gold Rush.”
