How to Make MetaTrader 4 Run More Efficiently
The amount of traffic that MT4 can handle depends on several factors:
1. The number of incoming ticks (depends on the number of instruments open in the Market Watch window and their volume)
2. The volume of uploaded data (depends on the number of open instruments and the chosen timeframes)
3. The news feed
4. History requests
5. Trading requests
6. System information (crash logs)
Our Advice: To make MT4 run more efficiently, you should close all of the charts you aren't using and remove any unused trading instruments from the Market Watch window.
