How does 3-D Secure work?
Before a transaction can be completed within the secure area of MCC or VbV, the client must, as usual, enter their card information: the card number, cardholder's name, expiration date, and CVV2 code. After entering the card information, in order to verify that they are in fact the true cardholder, the client is transferred to the website of the bank that issued the card, where they are asked to enter a password given to them by the bank. This is to confirm that the card has indeed not been stolen and is in the possession of the cardholder. This procedure substantially increases the security of your payments.
