How to Export Your Quote History
in CSV File Format
To download quotes directly from the MT4 terminal, you need to:
1. If you are not running MetaTrader 4 build 220 or higher, update the terminal by downloading MT4 from our website and installing it over the older version. You will not be able to upload quotes if you have been using LiveUpdate.
2. Increase the maximum number of bars in the MetaTrader 4 settings so one day in your History will show 1440 M1 bars: "MT4" / "Tools" / "Options" / "Charts" / "Max bars in history"
3. Go to the "History Center" in MetaTrader 4: "MT4" / "Tools" / "History Center"
4. Choose the time frame for the instrument you need (for example, double-click on "EURUSD" / "1 min") and click "Download".
MetaTrader 4 will then download the history of M1 quotes from our History Center and import these quotes to your platform.

MetaTrader 4 gives traders the opportunity to export their quote history and analyze it in a different software program. Please keep in mind that your quote history could be extremely large and require a significant amount of computing power to process.
To export the quote history to another program:
- 1. Go to "Tools" - "History Center" in the main menu of the MetaTrader 4 platform.
- 2. Choose the trading instrument and the time frame you need in the dialog window.
- 3. Click "Export".
- 4. Name the file and save in the .CSV format.
Your saved file will contain your quote history in the .CSV format (which is essentially a type of file where tabular data is stored in a text format). This file can be used in programs like Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Please Note: If your quote history isn't showing up correctly in Microsoft Excel, you will need to use the "Text in column" function, which prompts Excel to interpret commas and other symbols as separation between columns.
