Here's How to Open a ZuluTrade Account and Start Autotrading:

• Open a trading account. Choose between classic.zulutrade and classic.ndd.zulutrade. After opening the account in myAlpari, you will receive a login and password to enter the MetaTrader 4 terminal (ZuluTrade is compatible with MT4). Be sure to record this password in a secure place. You will need it to begin autotrading with ZuluTrade.


• Make a deposit. With just 500 USD or 400 EUR on your account, you can begin to experience the benefits of autotrading.

Alpari recently unveiled a new ZuluTrade trading platform. One of the first to try out the new platform was Andrey Ivanovich Petruk, the long-time leader atop the ZuluTrade Signal Provider ratings. Petruk’s "Systems FX LIVE" trading system has attracted hundreds of followers who, using Petruk’s signals, have been the beneficiaries of impressive returns. Petruk is also a PAMM Account Manager with Alpari. We decided to find out more about this distinguished trader by asking him a few questions. You can read his answers below.

1. Tell us how you got into Forex? How did it all get started?

I found out about Forex online by seeing an example of returns on a broker’s website. I was particularly interested in the possibility of automated trading, though I didn’t know then how much time it would take up.

2. Tell us about your educational background. Is it at all related to finance, and does it help in your trading?

My educational background is not at all related to finance, therefore I had to spend quite a bit of time teaching myself and looking for the information I needed. I found a lot of good information on internet forums, including Alpari’s forum.

3. Do any of your relatives or friends trade?

None of my relatives or friends trade. They are curious about what I am doing, but I always try to talk first and foremost about the risks and only later about the great advantages of the Forex market.

4. Do you trade with ATS or manually? Tell us a little bit about your trading strategy or strategies.

I only use ATC in my trading. For me, back-testing is very important as is the ability to easily calculate what kind of drawdown I can allow. The "SystemsFX LIVE" portfolio system is based on 3-4 Automated Trading Systems (ATS), each of which has been back-tested on ten years of historical data and several years of live trading. These systems work together on different time intervals, basis and indicators, but only on the EURUSD currency pair. The first ATC is based on finding breaks of intraday levels, the second is based on the “Parabolic” indicator and uses pending orders. The third trades only at night when the market is usually flat. There can be, at most about five positions open at once- all of which are then usually closed within one to three days. Exposure to risk is limited in all trades.

5. What attracted you to the ZuluTrade and PAMM Account services offered by Alpari?

In terms of PAMM Accounts, I was attracted by the ability to manage my own as well investors’ funds from the same account. Also, the settlement and distribution of funds take place at a convenient time for the Manager. I feel that Alpari has succeeded in putting together a team of professionals who have created and provided support for the PAMM Account system at a level higher than analogous services at other companies.

With ZuluTrade, I was of course interested in the possibility of making extra profit from successful trading as well as gaining more subscribers around the world. Currently, over 1,200 live accounts are subscribed to "SystemsFX LIVE"-with combined funds of $4,238,330 from client deposits ranging from $100 to $400,000.

6. Have you ever had any down periods in your trading in which you said to yourself, “That’s it, I am quitting trading?” If so, how did you deal with them?

Yes, there have been. My first attempts at trading were actually not that bad but the results seemed rather pedestrian compared to the high short-term returns made by other, what seemed like more experienced traders who were participating in different kinds of contests. I decided to use their services and ended up losing a good portion of my deposit as a result. At that point, I didn’t have a strong desire to return to trading. But then I tested my systems, and noticed that they continued to produce small but consistent returns and so I decided to return to where I had started.

7. What advice would you like to share with beginning traders?

I have noticed that beginning traders rely too heavily on the opinions of other users, trading analysts and all kinds of ratings. And I understand completely why- who else can you consult with if not with each other? But I don’t think that should form the basis for making decisions. In fact, as much as possible, I recommend verifying information yourself.

8. What do you wish for our PAMM Account Managers, as well as our ZuluTrade and PAMM Investors?

For managers, I wish first of all for stable returns, and only then a top place in the ratings. For investors- caution and understanding of what they’re doing. And I wish all of us success in finding our trading approach.

9. Tell us a little about yourself, your hobbies, interests, your family.

I am 33 years old and have been living with my wife and two daughters in Ireland since 2002. In my home country I was a miner but here I am a stonemason and a taxi driver. Right now, however, I am only trading -what was before extra money from ZuluTrade has become my main source of income. My family and I like to get out and see different picturesque places of the country. However, the weather here leaves a lot to be desired, so sometimes we fly off somewhere to get some sun. I enjoy tourism, technology, video and regular photography and, I have to admit, am partial to the newest computer games.

  How to Begin

  There are two ways you can download the Alpari application to your mobile device:

  • 1. Launch “App Store” on your mobile device. Then type “alpari” into the “Search” box. Click on the Alpari zTrader application icon. You will be taken to a page with a description of the application. Choose “Free” then “Install”. After the program is finished downloading, you will be ready to begin trading.
  • 2. Download the application to your computer and sync it to your mobile device. After synchronization, the application will already be installed on your device and you will be ready to begin trading.

  How to Create Your Trading Portfolio

  Log in to the application and select “Performance” from the lower menu to pull up a list of Signal Providers:

  

  Providers may be sorted by the following criteria:

  • system name: the nickname used by Providers for their trading strategies
  • pips: the profit earned by a Provider since they began trading (expressed in points)
  • followers: the number of traders (owners of Live and Demo Accounts), that use the trading signal of a Provider
  • win: the percentage of profitable trades made by a Provider, from their total number of trades
  • weeks: the number of weeks the Provider has been trading
  • mdd: the Provider’s maximum drawdown (expressed in points)
  • trades: the total number of completed transactions made by a Provider (only includes round-turn trades)
  • time: the average time a Provider’s positions remain open in the market
  • Avg: the average profit or loss for a trade, expressed in points

  Using these criteria, you can choose the right ZuluTrade Signal Provider(s) for your trading portfolio.

  When you see a Provider that interests you, you can pull up a detailed history of their completed transactions (including the results from their trades) by simply clicking on their nickname in the table.

  You can access their entire trading history (each of their round-turn trades), view current open positions and find a description of the trading strategies for each trader on the list.

  When you bring the screen of your mobile device into the horizontal position, you can access the chart analysis of a Provider’s trading performance:

  
  

  • Profit: a visual representation of a Provider’s profits and losses for a selected period of time

    

  
  
  • Monthly Pnl: a different visual representation of a Provider’s profits and losses (a bar chart displaying monthly trading results)

    

  
  
  • Trade Vol: this bar chart shows the ratio of profitable trades (green) to trades made at a loss (red), as well as trades that broke even (yellow)

    

  
  
  • CRCY Pairs: a pie chart, that shows the distribution of a Provider’s completed transactions, broken down by currency pair

    

  
  
  • Drawndown: this line graph shows the comparison between daily profit and drawdown

    

  
  

  To add a Signal Provider to your trading portfolio, simply click the “+” icon opposite the Provider’s nickname in the top section of the page.

  How to Build Your Portfolio and Begin Trading

  After logging in to the application, select “Settings” from the lower menu:

  

  From here, you can include or exclude your account, effectively activating/deactivating it so that it can/can’t receive autotrading signals from the Signal Providers in your trading portfolio.

  Here you can also find a visual indicator of the maximum potential level of your deposit exposure, the Margin Call-o-Meter. The longer the bar in the indicator, the greater the risk under your current portfolio settings.

  To change these settings, simply click on the nickname of a particular Provider. For each Provider, you will be able to adjust the following settings:

  • Lots Per Trade: this setting allows you to change the volume at which a position will be opened on your account after receiving signals from the Provider
  • Max Total Open Trades: sets the limit on the maximum number of positions from the Provider that can be kept open on your account at any given time
  • Max Open Trades/Currency: sets the limit on the maximum number of positions from the Provider that can be kept open on your account at any given time, broken down by currency pair
  • Override provider’s stop/limit: lets you manually adjust the fixed Stop (stop loss) and Limit (take profit) levels for all positions opened by the Signal Provider on your account
  • Tick safe stop: if this option reads “YES”, then your manual Stop (stop loss) and Limit (take profit) levels for transactions will be in effect only if they are “safer” (closer to the opening price of an order), then the level set by the Signal Provider. If this option reads “NO”, then the levels you set will be used regardless
  • Reverse the trades: this feature allows you to take advantage of the weaknesses of a Signal Provider’s strategy. If you begin to notice that their strategy is not living up to your expectations in general, or for a given currency pair, you can select “YES” and reverse your Provider’s trading decisions. When you activate this setting, a Provider’s signals to buy will become signals to sell and vice versa.

  How to Trade Manually

  Log in to the application and select “Live Trade”. You will see a page with quotes listed for all available trading instruments:

  

  
  

  • To open a position, click on the line opposite the name of the instrument, select the volume (in lots), then select the type of order (market Buy or Sell order or a pending order).
  • A request for a market order will be sent after only one click. For a pending order, you will also need to specify the opening price and the Stop and Limit levels.
  • When placing pending orders on classic.zulutrade accounts and selecting Stop and Limit levels, you will need to take into consideration our Limit and Stop levels, which can be found in our Contract Specifications.

  
  

  To keep track of the results of your orders, go to the “My Trading” section by selecting the icon in the lower menu:

  

  • Here you can find information about your current account balance, all market (open and closed orders) and pending orders (in your “History”), your total volume of open positions and the profit you have earned since you opened the account as well as in the previous month.
  • In each section, you can see the cumulative results, or see them divided separately into trades completed by Providers and trades completed by you manually.
  • You can also modify and close open and pending orders in this section. To do this, simply click on the “Open” or “Pending” order you wish to modify.
